How AI Thinks

A short explainer video on how AI thinks (no affiliate) for any AI company.

How do you explain artificial intelligence without showing a single robot, screen, or line of code? With light, motion, and visual metaphor. I created this 66-second cinematic explainer to visualize the four stages of how AI processes information — DATA, LEARN, THINK, CREATE — using entirely abstract, artistic visuals generated with AI tools.

THE CHALLENGE

Most AI explainer content falls into two camps: oversimplified cartoons or incomprehensible technical diagrams. Neither respects the audience. I wanted to find a middle ground: visuals that capture the genuine complexity and beauty of neural computation, while remaining accessible to anyone — engineers, executives, and curious minds alike.

THE VISUAL APPROACH

Instead of showing literal hardware or code, each stage is represented through abstract cinematic metaphors:

→ DATA: Rivers of glowing particles flowing through darkness — raw information converging toward purpose

→ LEARN: A vast neural network of interconnected nodes, pulsing and strengthening connections as patterns emerge

→ THINK: Geometric structures testing and selecting pathways — a moment of decision illuminated in light

→ CREATE: An explosion of particles transforming from raw energy into structured, beautiful forms

The abstract approach plays directly to AI generation tools’ strengths — glowing particles, flowing light, volumetric fog, and cosmic-scale structures are exactly what these models produce at their best.

CONCEPT PROJECT

Created to demonstrate AI-powered explainer video production. Not affiliated with any AI company.

THE WORKFLOW

1. Visual concepts generated with Nano Banana 2 (6 hero frames)

2. Image-to-video animation with Seedance 2.0 (6 cinematic clips)

3. AI voiceover with ElevenLabs (documentary narration)

4. Title cards and motion graphics in Hera.video

5. Post-production and compositing in After Effects

6. Color grading in DaVinci Resolve

7. Sound design and final edit in Premiere Pro

WHO THIS IS FOR

This style of explainer is designed for:

→ Tech companies explaining complex products to non-technical stakeholders → Startups pitching AI-powered solutions to investors
→ Conference presentations that need to capture attention in the first 10 seconds
→ Educational content that makes science feel cinematic Concept project — created to demonstrate AI-powered explainer video production.
