Friendly Pressure – AI generated brand AD

THE CHALLENGE

Friendly Pressure is a small London studio that builds horn loudspeakers by hand. A pair of their Pickney speakers runs around £4,300, and that number only works if you can feel the craft behind it. I gave myself a simple brief: make an ad that sells that feeling with AI video, without losing the soul of the object.

Nobody commissioned this. I wanted to see how far the current tools could go on something that lives or dies on taste rather than spectacle.

Words before pictures

Before I generated anything, I wrote the script. The opening has to earn the first second of a scroll, but a beautiful opening that says nothing still loses the viewer. So the structure came first: a hook, the tension, the product, the proof, and one line to end on. Everything visual after that was built to serve those words.

Three ways of seeing the same speaker

I shot the piece, in the AI sense, in three visual languages and cut between them.

The macro work carries the craft. Extreme close-ups of the aluminium horn, the walnut grain, the 3D-printed waveguide, the paper cone. This is where the price tag earns itself.

The hands carry the soul. Someone placing the speaker, lowering a needle onto vinyl, turning a volume knob, fitting a driver at the bench. Human presence without a single face on screen.

The atmosphere carries the feeling. A dark listening room, a low hero angle, dust drifting through a beam of light, a glass and a stack of records at the end of the day.

Keeping the product honest

The one rule I didn’t break: every shot was anchored to Friendly Pressure’s real product photography. The walnut and aluminium you see is theirs, not an AI approximation of a generic speaker. For a piece aimed at the actual maker, that fidelity wasn’t optional.

CONCEPT PROJECT

This spec commercial for Friendly pressure follows the full craft journey of hand made speaker making: from raw ingredients to the finished product. Shot in a cinematic dark blue studio environment with dramatic low-key lighting, macro probe-lens perspectives, and a premium voice over.

THE WORKFLOW

How it was built

Stills in Nano Banana. Motion in Seedance 2.0 and Kling 3.0. Voiceover written for ElevenLabs. I built the macro and hands shots one at a time, still to motion, which gave me cleaner control over each frame and a proper set of selects to edit from instead of one fragile take. Some shots fought back. A few got wrongly flagged, hands needed re-rolls, and the per-shot approach was as much a workaround as a creative choice. That is the honest part of working this way right now.

This is an unofficial concept piece, made for my portfolio and out of genuine respect for what Friendly Pressure builds. It is not commissioned by or affiliated with the studio, and all product designs and trademarks belong to them.
